Project Purpose:
The purpose of PrairieStar/Health Ministries Dental Project is to create access to dental care for the underinsured and uninsured people in Reno and Harvey Counties in Kansas.  The project will address problems such as inadequate dental access, lack of awareness of the importance of oral health, lack of culturally and linguistically appropriate care, and lack of continuity of care between medical and dental services among low-income residents.  The project’s primary goal is to provide dental access to at least 80% of all low-income children and pregnant women without private insurance who are medically served by consortium members.

Project Service Area:
This project will serve the un- and underinsured residents of Reno and Harvey Counties in Kansas.  Although the target population of this project is low-income pregnant women and children without private dental insurance, services are available to all low income people in the service area without private dental insurance.
